It was
in December 29, 1948, barely a week after the arrival of the La Salette Missionaries in Santiago, when the people of Aurora sent a delagation to Santiago requesting for a parish priest. That time Aurora was depending on the availabilty of the priest assigned in Santiago, who said mass there once in every two weeks only until 1950.
After a year, Aurora was erected to the status of a parish priest with St. Isidore as its patron saint. Fr. Paul Douillard, MS+ was its first parish priest. He served the parish until 1953. It was through Fr. Douillard's efforts and missionary spirit that a school, La Salette of Aurora, was
established.
At the turn over
rites at the Easter Sunday Mass celebrated by Bishop Sergio Utleg of
March 27, 2005, St. Isidore Parish was officially transferred to the
care and administration of the Diocese of Ilagan. Fr. James Poovathinkal, MS
(Parish Priest)and Fr. Chris Arellano, MS (Asst. Parish Priest) were
succeeded by Fr. Carlos Marquez.
