Atty. Francisco Paras, succeeding Col. Domingo as association president, initiated a chapel fund-raising activity in 1984 that was to set off a continuing effort and involve many sectors and organizations of the growing community. The Ladies' Circle, organized in Col. Domingo's second term was tapped to assist in fund-raising activity. By 1986 the association, then under the presidency of Valentin Reyes, negotiated with Filinvest Development Corporation for the conversion of the original tennis court into a permanent chapel site. In November 1987, on the Feast of Christ the King, ground breaking ceremonies were held in the designated area with no less than his Eminence Jaime Cardinal L. Sin, D.D. officiating. His Eminence was assisted by Fr. Nestor Gungon, Parish Priest of the Holy Spirit parish, under whose jurisdiction the young sub-parish of Christ the King belonged.
Meantime, fund-raising activities continued with increasing magnitude. The Ladies' Circle under Mila Labor's leadership held the first Miss Filinvest II search in 1988. The following year, newly-elected association President Rey Sanchez organized a very successful car raffle and the Ladies' Circle under Glo Borromeo held the second Miss Filinest II Pageant generating funds sufficient to begin construction.
By this time, the young Christian Community was fortunate to have its first resident priest in the person of Fr. Elmo fernandez. The first sub-pastoral Council was organized in August 1989 with Mrs. Auring Paras as President. The venue for masses was transferred from the Clubhouse to the unfinished chapel. By November 26, 1989, the construction being basically complete, His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin came a second time to bless and officially inaugurate the Chapel. The occasion served to fuel the possibility of converting the chapel to a parish church. After a series of referenda to determine the general sentiment, the majority of the residents voted for the conversion. A petition was sent to the Cardinal who responded with s decree of erection dated March 15, 1991.
