The Scholasticate as a post-Novitiate formation provides opportunities for further human and religious development leading to perpetual commitment in the consecrated life of the Congregation.  It provides for the need of integrating theory and practice, faith and life, prayer and pastoral involvement.

As spelled out in the Formation Manual of the Ina ng Pag-asa Province, the goal of the  program is to allow temporarily and perpetually professed members (prior to priestly ordination) to grow in their commitment to a life of faith radically founded in the person of Jesus Christ through the evangelical vows of poverty, chastity and obedience and lived in community for the ministry of reconciliation.

In a manner that is most intensive and extensive, the Scholasticate Formation Program pursues the stipulations of #31 of the Rule of Life of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette: " . . . to gradually aid the members to reach full maturity and form a well developed personality capable of meeting the needs of community life and the mission of the Church in the world;  integrating the La Salette Charism with those human, intellectual and Gospel values which leads the members to make effective contributions to the life and ministry of the congregation.
