Father Villegas did not stay long. He left the
Mission in May 2002 to accept a new assignment in St. Dominic Seminary in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. Although young, he exhibited well the virtues of
hard work, honestly, humility and tolerance. Ile wears a smiling face and
approaches his sermon with a contagious smile.
Marching from the heart of Cordillera was a
deacon named Vargas Palingping on June 28, 2002 but left in July to go for a
retreat in preparation to his ordination. He came back in the month of
August and left again in October. Ile was finally ordained in Kayan, Mt.
Province, his home place, on October 29, 2002. As usual, Christians traveled
by bus to attend the ordination, hoping that he would return as a permanent
priest in this mission. The situation created a Fatherless period. Joebert
Jacinto was then assigned as Parish Secretary and caretaker of the convent
for two months.
The fifth priest to come in a span of three
years is Rev. Fr. Gregorio S. Honorio Jr., MS. He was installed on December
1, 2002 by Bishop Francisco Claver, SJ. DD. The solemn occasion was attended
by members of the congregation here and abroad, brothers and sisters from
other congregation and the parishioners.
Father Greg belongs to the congregation of the Missionaries of Our Lady of
La Salette. He was ordained priest on February 10, 1995 at St. James Parish,
Santiago City. He was born and grew up in Ramon, Isabela.
